A record, not a performance
A wedding is full of moments that cannot be repeated, and they are the heart of the story. When it is time for couple portraits or family photos, I guide you calmly and quickly, so the pictures look natural and your guests are not kept waiting.
I work the other way round. I stay close, watch, and press the shutter when something happens that cannot be repeated: your mother's face during the vows, your grandfather laughing at a speech, the two of you finding thirty seconds alone in a corridor.
How the day goes
I arrive during the preparations and stay until the evening. I do not interrupt, do not rearrange furniture, do not ask anyone to redo a moment for the camera.
The only exception is the family group photographs. Those genuinely need organising, and they are worth it, in twenty years they will be the pictures your children look at. We agree the list beforehand so it takes fifteen minutes instead of an hour.
Photography and film from one team
If you want a film as well, it is made by the same team on the same day. Two camera operators and an editor, working alongside me rather than competing for position.
This matters more than it sounds. When photographer and videographer come from different companies, they get in each other's way, block each other's shots and hand you material in two different styles. Here the whole thing comes out looking like one piece of work, and you have one conversation instead of two.
Destination weddings
I photograph weddings outside Poland. For those I usually work more than a single day: the welcome dinner, the preparations, the ceremony, and a session somewhere that means something to you rather than wherever happens to be nearest.
Travel and accommodation are agreed in advance and included in the quote, so the figure you see is the figure you pay.
The session before the wedding
Two hours, a few weeks earlier. You get used to the camera, I learn how you react, and we find out what works between us.
The point is not the photographs themselves, although you get those too. The point is that on the wedding day you are not dealing with a stranger holding a lens. That difference shows in every frame taken afterwards.
What you receive
A private online gallery with every edited photograph, in resolution suitable for printing. A preview selection goes out within days, so there is something to show before the full set is ready.
Editing means colour, light and consistency across the whole day. I do not reshape faces or bodies. If you want something removed (a sign in the background, a mark on a dress) say so and it goes.
Guest photo consents, if you want them
After the wedding comes the moment when you want to post the photographs, and then you start wondering whether everyone in them would really be comfortable with it. Usually nobody checks and usually nothing happens, but not always.
If you would rather have this settled, I will prepare a link or a QR code for your guests. You can send it round before the wedding or put the code on the tables. Each person decides on their own phone what they agree to: photographs on your social media, my portfolio, or none of it.
You can see who has already answered. Anyone who declines is left out of the published material, both yours and mine.
This is an optional extra. General shots of the room and crowd scenes do not require anyone's consent anyway. This concerns the frames where one particular person is the subject.
Booking and terms
Saturdays in season are booked as much as a year ahead. The date is held once the full fee is paid within 3 days of signing; on request a deposit option is available: half at signing, the rest on the wedding day. The gallery is delivered after payment and nothing is added later: editing and the gallery are included in the price you knew from the first conversation.
The agreement states what happens if either side has to withdraw. Weddings are booked a year ahead and life intervenes; it is better to have that written down than to improvise later.
Travel within Kraków is included. Beyond the city it is 2 PLN per kilometre, stated in the quote. You know the full amount before you confirm.
