Aerial photographs of developments — for listings and documentation
A building cannot be shown from pavement level. From a drone you see the layout of the estate, the surroundings, the access road and whether the house stands among trees or beside a main road — exactly what a buyer asks about.
The time of day makes the difference
The same estate at noon and at sunset are two different sets of material. At midday the roofs are flat and lifeless; in the evening the façades catch warm light and lamps come on in the windows. If the photographs are meant to sell, we book an hour before sunset.
From directly above and at an angle
A shot straight down shows the plan and the plot boundaries — useful for documentation and for dividing up units. A low-angle shot looks like a photograph taken from a neighbouring window and works better in a listing. I usually take both, because they serve different purposes.
Documenting the progress of works
On developments under construction I return to the same points at the same altitude, so that successive sets can be compared. This is material for reports and settlements with the contractor, not for Instagram.
I fly in line with the regulations and register flights wherever that is required. In Kraków and the surrounding area a good many zones need clearance, so the date has to be agreed in advance.
